N.Flying FLY HIGH PROJECT #3 ‘Spring Memories’

The beloved band N.Flying, who vividly portrayed winter night romance memories in ‘Rooftop’, now sings about spring love.

Lee Seung Hyub’s self-composed ‘Spring Memories’ unfolds the various emotional waves that couples experience, as diverse as the different temperatures felt in spring between winter and summer. It captures the story of warm lovers who ultimately fill each other during every bittersweet moment.

Besides ‘Spring Memories’, the album contains six tracks total including the upbeat ‘Leave It’ with its impressive straightforward lyrics, ‘Flowerwork’ that shows N.Flying’s spirited rookie-like energy, ‘Preview’ with jazzy piano that doubles the heart-fluttering feeling, and the previously released and beloved ‘Rooftop’ and ‘Like a Flower’ from past ‘FLY HIGH PROJECT’ releases, delivering both cheerful energy and warm emotions.

N.Flying’s ‘FLY HIGH PROJECT’ is a project designed to convey N.Flying’s diverse possibilities and music to many people and to soar higher. Lee Seung Hyub’s self-composed ‘Rooftop’, released through this project, became known as the ‘romance memory manipulation song’ and served as a turning point for N.Flying to grow broadly as a band with mainstream appeal.

1. Spring Memories

   The title track ‘Spring Memories’, which begins with lyrical acoustic guitar and whistling sounds, is leader Lee Seung Hyub’s self-composition expressing various aspects of love suitable for warm spring. It tells the story of warm lovers who shared dazzlingly sweet spring days together, sometimes facing bitter moments of longing for past springs, becoming each other’s missing half and filling each other up.

2. Leave It

   ‘Leave It’ is a song with an impressively upbeat sound that’s hard to believe tells the story of wanting to erase memories of a past lover. Particularly, Lee Seung Hyub’s straightforward yet sensual lyrical interpretation is sufficient to feel the heart of a man who wants to push away the current situation and wander.

3. Flowerwork

   ‘Flowerwork’ is a song where N.Flying can freely show their spirited stage presence as if they’ve returned to their rookie days. Amidst reggae pop guitar riffs and intense rock rhythms, Lee Seung Hyub’s rap acts as a fuse leading to Yoo Hwe Seung’s explosive high notes, evoking hot fireworks like the title suggests.

4. Preview

   ‘Preview’ is a song that tells the story with a loved one from a new perspective, as if becoming the protagonist of a movie. Like a movie preview that makes you curious about what comes next, it contains the lovely content of becoming increasingly curious even after seeing it every day. Jazzy-style piano and half-tempo shuffle rhythm hip-hop beats amplify the heart-fluttering feeling with the lover in the lyrics.

5. Rooftop

   Lee Seung Hyub’s self-composition ‘Rooftop’ depicts the wistful memories of two people after breaking up with a lovely partner who used to sit side by side on the rooftop, gazing at the night sky together. Through the fresh subject of a rooftop room, it contains a story that those who have experienced breakups can easily relate to, allowing listeners to feel N.Flying’s lyrical sensibility.

6. Like a Flower

   ‘Like a Flower’ compares everyone’s happiest and most brilliant youth to a ‘flower’, projecting withering flowers onto oneself to contain a message that all young people in this world can relate to. The lyrical acoustic guitar combined with seemingly calm yet heavy drum sounds, Lee Seung Hyub’s voice whispering to the ears like speaking, and Yoo Hwe Seung’s roaring, deeply appealing vocals blend together to create admiration.
