<The Place We Stayed, Station>
A digital single ‘Station’, a collaborative work of Lee Jinwoo and Taru, both formerly from the same label ‘Pastel Music’, has been released. Lee Jinwoo is a singer-songwriter who was selected through the intense competition of ‘Pastel Music’, a hub of the fierce indie music scene of the past, and has been actively making music since then. Before the release of his regular album, he had remade ‘Sally’S Song’ from the movie ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ for a Christmas special album with Taru. ‘Sally’S Song’, one of Taru’s favorite tracks, became a topic of conversation at the time for its bold arrangement and Taru’s unique voice. Working independently, they eventually collaborated on this song, with the hidden support of Allegro, a male singer-songwriter from the same label.
In ‘Station’, Lee Jinwoo composed the music, while Taru wrote the lyrics. Initially, Lee Jinwoo wanted to express the melody with just a simple band setup, but after receiving Taru’s lyrics, he added orchestration for a more narrative and dramatic arrangement. This made it possible to enjoy an instrumental version as well.
Lee Jinwoo recalls working on this digital single ‘Station’ as follows:
“I always thought Taru’s voice had the ability to transcend genres, but after hearing ‘Stay with Me’ from the more recent ‘Song of Gomer’ album, I realized that her voice can also deliver more than 120% in ballads. I composed this song with only Taru’s voice in mind.”
He also added that, although the untact work process took some time for exchanging materials, he is grateful that almost all the performances and chorus recordings were completed in one take without special modifications.
Taru also shared, “I have always had working with Lee Jinwoo in mind. Although we didn’t have much interaction as acquaintances, I consider him a colleague with whom I connect well musically. This work reaffirmed that. I had high expectations for a song crafted just for ‘Taru’, and it certainly did not disappoint. Sentimental Scenery and Lee Jinwoo, though my juniors, are musicians from whom I have much to learn.”
Regarding the title ‘Station’, she explained,
“Station is a place of memories for everyone. It’s also a place where staying and leaving coexist. It’s a unique place where the past and present intersect. In these times when we’re forced to live a ‘stagnant’ life, I wanted this song to be more about ‘staying’ and reflecting on the path we’ve taken, hence the title ‘Station’.”

(Musimhi jinaganeun harureul)
As I walk through a day that passes indifferently
(Geotdabomyeon)
As I walk
(Dasi i jarilo dorawon)
I find myself back in this place
(Nal balgyeonhae)
Discovering myself
(Neon eodijjeum gago isseulkka)
Where might you be going
(Eotteon siganeul geotgo isseulkka)
What kind of time are you walking through
(Nal ijeosseulkka)
Have you forgotten me
(Ijeneun soyongeopdaneun geol aljiman)
I know it’s useless now
(Neo-ege dahjin anhgetjiman)
But it won’t reach you
(Haejugopeun mari isseo)
There are words I want to say
(Neomu apeuda)
It hurts so much
(Ajik niga apeuda)
I’m still hurting because of you
(Nae yoksimmankeum muneojideon nege)
To you, who collapsed as much as my greed
(Mojinmareul naebaetdeon)
Spewing harsh words
(Mireonaegiman haetdeon naega)
I, who only pushed you away
(Neomu miwo)
I hate myself so much
(Sumeul swil su eopda)
I can’t breathe
(Eolmana miwosseulkka)
How much must you have hated
(Eolmana apasseulkka)
How much must you have hurt
(Nae yoksimmankeum muneojideon nega)
You, who collapsed as much as my greed
(Himgyeopge naemildeon soneul janinhage ppurichin)
Cruelly rejecting the hand you painfully offered
(Ireon naega)
This version of me
(Jeongmal silhta)
I really hate
(Mianhada saranghanda)
I’m sorry, I love you
(Mal mothetdeon miryeonhaetdeon nan)
I was foolish, unable to say these words
(Neoreul ullyeotdeongeot mankeum)
As much as I made you cry
(Yeogiseo honja ulgo isseo)
I’m crying alone here
(Neomu apeuda)
It hurts so much
(Ajik niga apeuda)
I’m still hurting because of you
(Nae yoksimmankeum muneojideon nege)
To you, who collapsed as much as my greed
