Unfinished Phrase

Suddenly, I thought that a composer’s thoughts or character at the time might be reflected in their music.

Starting with an unfinished phrase is like opening a conversation with someone by saying ‘You know…’ before introducing the topic.

A melody that starts after a pause feels somewhat arrogant, as if a person in power is speaking to their subordinate,

or it may seem like casually bringing up a disjointed topic to a close friend who understands one’s thoughts well.
